Hometown Days: A Festival in Icons
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Hometown Days Festival, I was hired to create a custom illustration that captured the spirit, charm, and excitement of this beloved community event. The client requested a theme park-inspired design packed with local icons from the town, festival activities, and their legendary wiffle ball tournament.

Behind the scenes
Starting with a detailed brief and inspiration references provided by the client, I developed the layout, color palette, and a playful wordmark. I illustrated over a dozen custom icons, including the Old Republic Mansion, scoreboard, marquee, and Hometown Cup Trophy—balancing bold simplicity with enough character to feel vibrant and unique. I worked closely with the client throughout the process to fine-tune icon placement and ensure key landmarks were included.
